We offer diplomatic training for young professionals, mid-career officials taking on new responsibilities, and senior diplomats who engage in strategic policy-making and high-level communication.

We train diplomats in a wide range of arenas and topics: per country or per region, in specialised programmes, and throughout every phase of their career.

Diplomatic training for different levels has different characteristics

Regardless of the precise focus, we always use the Clingendael method to adapt our diplomatic training programmes to fit participants’ specific needs.

  • Regional focus: In many of our programmes, the Clingendael Academy training method is applied to specific country or regional contexts.
  • Thematic focus: The regional focus is often combined with a specific thematic focus. We have developed programmes in agro-diplomacy, water diplomacy, public diplomacy, futures of diplomacy, sustainable diplomacy and cyber diplomacy.
