On the 29th of October, the Conflict Research Unit (CRU) of the Clingendael Institute will host an informal meeting with the EU Special Representative (EUSR) for the Sahel, Michel Reveyrand de Menthon, which aims to bring together a diverse group of representatives from civil society, the policy realm and knowledge institutes.   

The meeting will start at 3 pm with a general introduction by the International Center for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) on the origins of the crisis in Mali, the international military responses and the perspectives for stabilisation. The EUSR will then share his thoughts on the latest developments in the North-South negotiations and the EU actions and programmes in Mali and the Sahel, after which participants are invited to take part in an open discussion.
