On December 12, Clingendael Magazine the 'Internationale Spectator' together with SIB-Amsterdam,organised a seminar focusing on the Dutch cyber ambitions. This seminar was a follow-up on a cyber-dossier that was published on the website of the Internationale Spectator in the preceding week. Several speakers from the field shed their light on the ‘gains and losses’ of the Dutch cyber ambitions, followed by a discussion with the audience. The Dutch aspirations to become the cyber ‘gateway’ of Europe poses challenges to national security and the judicial system. Are we capable of dealing with the risks that stem from these cyber ambitions? And what is the role of the Dutch government, the private sector and NGO’s in reducing the risks and protecting national security?
