In the context of a three years cooperation with the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, Mr. Ron Ton, Director of the Clingendael Academy, visited Sofia for consultations and training in the week of the 21st of April. He met with the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kristian Vigenin, to discuss future cooperation in diplomatic training and EU cooperation.

At the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute (BDI) Ron Ton provided a capacity building seminar, focussing on assessment exercises and curricula development.  The week also included a two days seminar for Senior and Midlevel Bulgarian diplomats in international negotiations skills.

The visit and trainings highlighted the excellent relationship between the Clingendael Academy and the BDI, since its establishment in September 2003.
