Bart van den Berg is a Training Fellow at the Clingendael Institute. He joined Clingendael in June 2019 and is specialized on the training programs in the international security field.

Prior to joining the Clingendael Institute, he has worked 6 years as an infantry officer at the Royal Netherlands Army, leading various military operations in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Bart has worked under French and German command, integrating his unit into international combat teams. Bart has been deployed with an international mechanized battlegroup in Lithuania in 2018 as part of the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence. With his teams, Bart has led various mechanized and urban operations.

Before joining the army, Bart graduated in 2013 from the Rotterdam School of Management and Leiden University and holds a Master’s degree in Chinese Economy and Business. During his studies, he conducted an internship in China as a risk analyst at Huisman Equipment, a large offshore equipment manufacturer with a production facility in the Fujian Province in China.
