Nienke van Heukelingen works at Clingendael’s EU & Global Affairs Unit. In her capacity as Research Fellow, Nienke’s work primarily revolves around (labour) migration and EU-Turkey relations.

Until June 2019, Nienke worked for the European Parliament’s rapporteur on Turkey in Brussels, where she was co-responsible for drafting the EP Turkey report and for covering EU-Turkey relations. Before joining the European Parliament, she worked at a think tank called Wiardi Beckman Foundation as well as freelance journalist for various Dutch newspapers.

Nienke holds a BA in Journalism, and MA in Political history.
