From 17-19 October, the Clingendael Academy organised its open registration course on Intercultural Communication. During this three-day course, a diverse group of participants from the private as well as public sector improved their knowledge and skills of Intercultural Communication.

Following the PACIS model of intercultural capacity, the trainers offered a solid framework in which they discussed cultural awareness, pitfalls, cultural clusters, intercultural interaction, and sensitivity in intercultural contexts.

Characteristic for Clingendael trainings is the emphasis on experiential learning. During this training, participants experienced intercultural interactions in simulated, fictional situations. By using case studies, roleplays, an intercultural negotiation exercise and a multilateral meeting simulation, the participants honed their intercultural competences.

“The trainers provide an open, inclusive style of presenting, with enough space for personal anecdotes yet a solid theoretical foundation”

We look back on a fruitful training course and thank our participants for their active participation and engagement!
