Fake News and What (Not) To Do About It

The public reaction to Fake News varies from offence to a sense of being entertained. One of the main problems with Fake News is of course that it is believed, shared and circulated by people, thus making Fake News what it is. Fake News is the bedfellow of international dialogues of disrespect, and this combination constitutes a fertile breeding ground for political myths and geopolitical rivalry. Focusing too much on the offenders does however run the risk of countering Fake News with Cold War-style tools.
