Twenty humanitarian aid professionals from a.o Save the Children, UNHCR, Norwegian Refugee Council and IRC, attended the first Humanitarian Negotiation Training hosted in Nigeria.

Supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this training is part of Clingendael’s project to improve the negotiation skills of humanitarian aid workers.

From 7 to 9 May, the three day course introduced the participants to negotiation tools and strategies and provided ample opportunity to immediately apply the newly acquired tools and insights during specially designed simulations

All participants put a lot of trust in us and each other to make this "the best training I ever had" according to one participant. "No powerpoint, no boring lectures and very practice oriented" according to another.
