During this public discussion a wide range of experts will shed their light on the impact and consequences of China's New Silk Road initiative, also know as 'One Belt One Road (OBOR)'.

Various topics will be highlighted from both a Chinese as well as a Dutch perspective, including current developments, the handling of goods, the role of transit countries, logistics and the impact on the trade and transport sector.

Sr. Research Fellow Frans-Paul van der Putten will present the Dutch perspective on the Belt and Road Initiative and the view of the Dutch on its geopolitical consequences.

The key note address will be delivered by HE Magzhan Ilyassov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Kazakh vision, role and approach as an important transit hub on the international playing field.

Presentations will be held in either English or Dutch. Translation is available.
