Clingendael strenghtens position in worldwide think tank ranking

Once again the Netherlands Institute of International Relations 'Clingendael' has succeeded in improving its overall ranking in the Global Go To Think Tank Index (University of Pennsylvania). In the 2018 ranking, the Institute greatly strengthened its position in the category 'Non-US think tanks' by taking the 13th position (+6). Worldwide (more than 8,160 think thanks) Clingendael rose to the 26th position (+4). Moreover, Clingendael has succeeded in maintaining its 10th position in Western Europe. On a national level the Clingendael Institute is by far the highest ranking Dutch think tank, as it was in previous years. 
 
The Institute also improved its ranking in the categories 'Foreign Policy and International Affairs' (+6 to 19th worldwide) and 'Best Use of Media' (50th position, +1).

The Clingendael Institute warmly congratulates its partners Brookings Institution and the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI) with their number one ranking in the respective categories Think Tanks Worldwide and Think Tanks Non-US.
 
About the Index
The worldwide acknowledged Index is published yearly by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania. It is based on peer review and expert opinions. It collects its data through the reviews of over 7,800 think tanks and a large number of experts' think tanks, involved in politics, journalism, country and regional expertise as well as donors/commissioning parties of think tanks. Europe has over 2,200 think tanks.
