Until December 2017 Nicole Slootweg was Training and Research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’. She joined Clingendael in April of 2017 and developed training programs on Humanitarian Negotiations for humanitarian staff at both field level as well as headquarter level. 

Nicole is a humanitarian and development professional with experience in implementing, managing and supporting humanitarian programs in different contexts such as Lebanon, India, DRC, Nigeria and Greece. She also designed and gave trainings on human rights advocacy for civil society organisations in South Sudan, conducted research on access to health for stateless people in the Netherlands and she worked on refugee and asylum issues for several human rights organisations. 

Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Dutch and International Law from the University of Amsterdam with a specific focus on Human Rights and Refugee Law.
