Lessons learned and usability

European countries are stepping up their defence cooperation in bilateral formats or small groups.

This Clingendael report analyses the pros and cons of different defence cooperation models. What factors determine succes or failure? What lessons can be learned from five case studies analysed in the report: the Eurocorps, the Franco-German Brigade, the European Air Transport Command, the Belgian-Netherlands Naval Cooperation and Baltic Air Policing. How usable are existing defence cooperation models for potential new ones?

Authors Dick Zandee, Margriet Drent and Rob Hendriks provide the answers to all these questions.
