Alessandra Ricci Ascoli is an Academy Fellow at the Clingendael Institute since August 2018. She is an expert and trainer in human rights and international law and develops training programmes for diplomats and other international relations professionals, among others from West African countries.
Before joining the Clingendael Institute she worked as a project coordinator for the HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) Programme of the Council of Europe. She has also been an adviser to the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe and a refugee officer at the Dutch Section of Amnesty International (AI). Prior to her work with AI she was a lawyer at the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg (France).
She graduated in Law from the University of Genoa (Italy) and holds a Master's degree in European Studies from the IHEE (Institut des Hautes Études Européennes) in Strasbourg.
