Until January 2018 Lot Schuringa worked as Training and Research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’.
She joined Clingendael in February 2016 and coordinated training programmes for foreign diplomats and other international relations professionals. She was mainly working on francophone training programmes for, among others, diplomats from West Africa and the Sahel.
Lot holds a BA in Liberal Arts from University College Maastricht and has an MA in International Humanitarian Action (an Erasmus Mundus double degree) from Uppsala University and University College Dublin. Her master thesis analyzed Turkish political will to create a safe area in northern Syria.
During her studies, she studied abroad in Turkey, Sweden and Ireland. Prior to joining Clingendael, she interned at the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG International) and worked as an interviewer for the Prison Project.
