Dr. Mai’a K. Davis Cross is Senior Visiting Fellow at the Clingendael Institute. She researches issues of European integration, security, foreign policy, diplomacy, and public diplomacy. She is the author of a number of well-received books. Her most recent book, Security Integration in Europe: How Knowledge-based Networks are Transforming the European Union (University of Michigan Press, 2011), was awarded the 2012 Best Book Prize by the University Association for Contemporary European Studies. She is currently working on a new co-edited book together with Jan Melissen titled, European Public Diplomacy: Soft Power at Work, as well as a project with the working title, The Politics of Crisis in Europe.
Mai’a Cross holds a PhD in Politics from Princeton University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University. In 2009, she was a Fulbright fellow as well as a visiting fellow at the EU Institute for Security Studies. In 2011, she was the recipient of the University of Southern California’s Teaching and Mentoring Award.
