Shannon Ayre joined the Clingendael Institute as an intern in February 2020. During her internship she coordinated diplomatic trainings for foreign and Dutch Diplomats and other international relations professionals, among others from Indonesia and Bangladesh. As a next step, she joined the Clingendael Institute as a Junior Academy Fellow since August 2020. She will continue coordinating, developing and implementing diplomatic trainings, but she will also be coordinating humanitarian negotiation training programs for humanitarian workers and will be more involved in the field of Negotiation and Mediation in Conflict Resolution.

Shannon holds a Bachelor's degree in international relations and international organization from the University of Groningen. During her Bachelor’ degree she went on an exchange to the Edith Cowan University in Western Australia where she followed courses on International Negotiation and Security and Risk Management. She is currently finishing her Master’s degree in Crisis and Security Management at Leiden University in the Hague.
