A unique training method
Our training approach to support peace initiatives is interactive and practical. Our tailored simulations vary in levels of complexity, content and competences. We develop our own simulations tailored to the specific needs of the participants, relating to different phases in the negotiation process.
Where relevant we work with case studies and specific thematic exercises on, for example:
- negotiating an independence struggle
- crisis management
- local cease fire negotiations
- dealing with the press
- backchannel negotiations
- process design
- risk management
- building an effective support system
- negotiating a new constitution
Whenever we lack the adequate materials, we use our extensive network and own expertise to develop new materials, to be as relevant as possible to the group we train.
Our flexible training methodology enables us to do so. Our Academy’s training methodology is a mix of process approach, behaviour analysis, and emphasis on the political context. Instead of teaching the theories, but rather focusing on the skills and relating them to the specific context of the participants, our methodology is tried, tested and adjusted throughout years of practice.
