The Europe-Japan Dialogue on Investment and Security, hosted by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), was created to rekindle the relationship and understanding between decision makers of Japan and Europe. This year’s two-day conference brings together a group of experts and practitioners from Europe and Asia.

A public conference titled ‘Should foreign investment be screened?’ will take place in the morning of 8 June at the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI), Berlin. Details are available here.

Clingendael’s  Senior Research Fellow Maaike Okano-Heijmans will speak in the subsequent private workshop, in a session of on defense and economic security perspectives on Foreign Direct Investment and technology acquisition.
