Clingendael is an independent think tank and a diplomatic academy, based in The Hague - City of Peace and Justice. We aim to contribute to a secure, sustainable and just world through our analyses, training and public debate. We work with partners across public and private sectors, including policymakers, members of the armed forces, diplomats, politicians and business executives.
History
The Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ was founded in 1983. It is the result of a merger between five smaller institutes, all of which were active in the field of international relations.
Transparency
Transparify has awarded Clingendael five stars out of five for transparency, recognising its openness about financing and governance. We receive our funding from multiple sources.
Annual reports
In its Annual Reports, the Clingendael Institute presents a yearly overview of its most important activities. The main text contains the highlights regarding our research, trainings and events. All reports also inform you about relevant corporate developments, such as outreach, finances and personnel. Through these reports, Clingendael aims to reflect its objectives as a think tank, academy and platform for debate.
