Introduction

This was a public roundtable co-hosted by the Embassy of Georgia and the Clingendael Institute. 

H.E. Deputy Minister David Dondua  delivered an address on the next steps in Georgia-EU relations.

The event was moderated by Clingendael Senior Visiting Fellow Jan Marinus Wiersma. The official programme was followed by a network reception.

H.E. Deputy Minister Dondua has served his country in many official capacities. In 2001 he was granted the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

He worked as First Deputy State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration from 2012-2014. In November 2014 he was appointed as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and in September 2015 he was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister. 

Mr. Dondua is also the author of two collective monographs and about twenty scientific works as well as a member of the Scientific Board of Geographical Society of Georgia.
