Making SDG16 work for Rule of Law and Access to Justice

Introduction

Publice debate on the progress on Sustainable Development Goal 16-Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions-with special attention to Fragile and Conflict Affected States. 

After welcoming words by Dr. Bernard R. Bot, Chairman of the Carnegie Foundation, and the opening by Marcel Smits, Program Director Europe at the Institute for Economics & Peace, presentations were provided by Dr. Sarah Lister, Director of the Oslo Governance Centre, UNDP; Dr. Ilaria Bottigliero, Director, Research and Learning, International Development Law Organization; and Dr. Helder da Costa, General Secretary g7+ Secretariat. Talia Hagerty, Research Fellow at the Institute for Economics & Peace, presented the IEP Progress Report on SDG16.

The presentations were followed by a Q&A and panel debate.

This event was a collaboration with The Institute for Economics & Peace, The Carnegie Foundation, Cordaid, Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Humanity X, and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Netherlands, with support from the Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law.
