The Netherlands' position in the European security and defence landscape
The Clingendael Institute will host a seminar on the position of the Netherlands in the emerging European security and defence landscape. The seminar will take place on June 2, from 12:30 to 17:00 CET, followed by a reception, at Huys Clingendael in The Hague.
Commissioned by the Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, this seminar is part of a Progress research project focusing on the question how the Netherlands can position itself strategically vis-รก-vis the Europeanization of NATO, the EU-NATO relationship and the (growing) role of minilateral collaboration in European security and defence.
The seminar will include expert introductions on emerging NATO, EU and minilateral pathways. The breakout sessions will explore potential courses of action for the Netherlands, building on a comparative study analysing the national positions of, amongst other member states, the UK, France and Germany on key aspects of NATO and EU policies. A preparatory paper will be shared with participants in advance.
This is a closed, invitation-only event.
