Round Table: The EU and Maritime Security in the Indian Ocean

Introduction

On 15 April 2013 the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael and The Hague Institute for Global Justice organize a round table on the European Union and Maritime Security in the Indian Ocean. The meeting will address current developments regarding the presence of the India, Japan, and China as security actors in the Indian Ocean region and how this relates to European security. Key questions are how the rise of Asia affects maritime security in this region and what role the EU is playing and could be playing in the future.
