Clingendael Institute in 2014 Global Go-To Think Tank Index

The Hague, 26 January 2015 - The Clingendael Institute is the highest ranking Dutch think tank of 2014 according to the Global Go To Think Tank Index (GGTTI) Report released by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania. The GGTTI is perceived as one of the most comprehensive rankings of the world’s think tanks.

In the category of top think tanks in Western Europe, the Clingendael Institute has achieved  the eleventh position, rising four places in the ranking compared to last year. In the category of top non-US think tanks worldwide, Clingendael placed 25th. Worldwide Clingendael has achieved the 34th position.

In the research categories of 'Top Defense and National Security Think Tanks and Top Foreign Policy' and 'International Affairs Think Tanks', the institute achieved a 39th place and a 30th place respectively. In the ranking of ‘Best External Relations and Public Engagement Program’ the institute has maintained its 19th position and in the new category ‘Best use of Media’ Clingendael starts in 35th place.

According to the report, the Netherlands is home to 57 think tanks, of which 11 feature in the report. The Clingendael Institute remains the only Dutch think tank in the worldwide rankings of top think tanks, both non-US and including the US.
