Planetary Security Initiative launches new website
22 Sep 2016 - 10:29

The Clingendael Institute is pleased to unveil the new and improved online nexus for the Planetary Security Initiative (PSI). The new launched website is initially focused towards catering to the upcoming 2016 Planetary Security Conference, held on the 5th and 6th of December, at the Peace Palace in The Hague.

The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the Planetary Security Initiative (PSI) in 2015. Now operated by a consortium of leading think tanks, the goal of the PSI is to strengthen the knowledge-policy interface by consolidating the community of practice on planetary security.

The objectives are to:

• Enhance political awareness and involvement on the climate security interface;
• Build an inclusive community that is multi-lateral, multisector and multi-disciplinary;
• Create a regular structural platform for global cooperation on planetary security.

Following the Conference, the website will be transformed into a global community of practice on Planetary Security. This means that visits to the website, before and after the conference, will be a vastly different experience.

The PSI consortium invites you to engage in the comment sections under the news entries on the site and to join the thematic discussions on the working groups.
