Delegation of European and Ukrainian think tanks visits Mexico
Julia Soldatiuk-Westerveld, Senior Research Fellow for the EU & Global Affairs unit at Clingendael, recently joined a delegation from the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism,” the European Policy Centre, and the Clingendael Institute for International Relations on a visit to Mexico.
This initiative aimed to foster dialogue and exchange perspectives on Mexican-European and Mexican-Ukrainian relations, particularly in light of the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine and its global implications. The delegation met with an array of influential actors, including members of the Mexican Parliament, the Mexican Council on Foreign Affairs, EU delegation in Mexico, political scientists, journalists, and students.

Discussions focused on shared solutions for global stability and security, pathways to resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war, food security and foreign interference and malign influence (FIMI). A lecture at a leading Mexican university UNAM Querétaro provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with students and academics and emphasized the importance of building bridges between regions to address shared global challenges.
Representing on behalf of Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism” were Hennadiy Maksak, Executive Director, Olga Chyzova, Head of Brussels Office and on behalf of the European Policy Centre, Svitlana Taran, Research Fellow Europe in the World Programme.
