Evie Michele Portier joined the Clingendael Institute in September 2025. She works as a Project Fellow in the Security Training and Capacity Building unit, coordinating and supporting training programs for international relations professionals, civil servants, and diplomats. Her work focuses on resilience, diplomacy, and radicalization.

Before joining Clingendael, Evie worked as an analyst at Deloitte, advising multinationals on EU and Dutch regulations and delivering training sessions. She also founded Eefje Tutoring, developing and facilitating tailored educational programs for high-school and university students. 

Evie holds dual BAs in Politics and Government from Sciences Po Paris and Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley (magna cum laude), as well as an MPhil from the University of Cambridge (Merit). Her dissertation, “An Investigation into Variation in the Radicalization Process Between Left-Wing, Ethno-Nationalist, and Jihadist Terrorist Groups in Europe”, examined differences in radicalization pathways across Europe. While at UC Berkeley, she was an IIS/CPD Undergraduate Research Fellow, assisting research on the targeting of women by insurgents in Iraq. At Cambridge, she served as Director of Events for the Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum, organizing and moderating lectures and conferences with diplomats and high-level speakers.
