Podcast: EU migration policy creating instability in the Sahel

Jérôme Tubiana

European Union migration policies created in order to stop the flow of migrants from Africa are generating more instability and encouraging the rise of militias, according to a new report released by Clingendael Netherlands Institute of International Relations.

The report, based on research by Jérome Tubiana, Clotilde Warin and Gaffar Mohammud Saeneen, shows how European policies have created a rise in trafficking in the Niger-Chad-Sudan-Libya corridor.

RFI's Laura Angela Bagnetto spoke to Clotilde Warin about the report and the impact they have seen on the ground.
