Aron van der Beek is Research Fellow at Clingendael’s Strategic Foresight and Intelligence Programme within the Security Unit. His research focuses on long-term geopolitical developments and the changing foundations of power in international affairs. His work explores how technological innovation, intelligence, and the growing role of private actors are reshaping strategic competition and international security.

Before joining Clingendael, Aron worked at Triangular Group Insights, an independent security research and advisory firm, where he led multidisciplinary research projects for public and private sector clients. His work covered topics including defence innovation, artificial intelligence, disinformation, critical infrastructure resilience, and geopolitical risk.

Aron studied Crisis and Security Management at Leiden University and Intelligence Studies at the University of Amsterdam. He has further specialised in intelligence analysis, data science, and machine learning, and is particularly interested in how knowledge and technology influence geopolitical developments and strategic decision-making.
