Christiaan Moll initially served in the Royal Netherlands Navy (operations, legal) and subsequently developed as an expert in security sector governance & reform, regulatory reform and anti-corruption. He was employed as a civil expert and diplomat for the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assigned by the EU/EEAS to EUCAP Somalia (Mogadishu) initially, in the role of Senior Legal Advisor and Chief of Rule of Law Advisory Unit, and later to EUAM Ukraine (Kyiv) in the role of Senior Adviser on Anti-Corruption. Previously, he co-founded and directed the (public funded) European Academy for Law and Legislation and worked as an independent consultant for commissioning entities (e.g. OECD, SIGMA, OSCE (ODIHR/OCEEA), The World Bank).

In overview, his activities have predominantly involved conceptual and network development, programme- & project management, lecturing, advising and peer-review around capacity building and training initiatives on security, regulatory and anti-corruption issues. All these activities pursued the enhanced awareness and expertise of an audience of high level public officials and regulatory experts, employed in the security and justice domains in transitional and fragile countries, across a number of regions (e.g. Balkans, MENA, South Caucasus, Central Aasia, Far East).

Christiaan holds academic degrees from the Royal Netherlands Naval College, KIM (Naval Science, Operational Studies), the University of Amsterdam (International law), the International Anti-Corruption Academy (Anti-corruption studies) and is alumnus of the European Security and Defense College. He was assigned as consultative expert for the OECD's 'Working Group on Bribery' and an accredited member of the ‘OSCE Group of Experts on Democratic Law Making and Public Consultation’. Current memberships include the ´United Nations Security Sector Reform Network´ (conducted by the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions), Eurodéfense Netherlands and Transparency International Netherlands.
