Challenges in a Changing World: Clingendael Views on Global and Regional Issues

09 Dec 2008 - 16:00
The Netherlands Institute of International Affairs 'Clingendael' celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2008. This is not only an appropriate reason to look in retrospect, but also to look into the future. In this book, research fellows from the Institute shed some light on the near future regarding their research topics.

Attention is paid to topical and pressing issues of today such as: the upcoming global players; the new security threats and challenges like climate change and energy; the role of international organizations; the importance of regional cooperation; the responsibilities of the European Union; and the Dutch interests in all these areas.

In so doing all four main domains of specialization at Clingendael - Europe, Diplomacy, Security and Energy - are well represented. In the tradition of the Clingendael Institute, the different chapters in this book are not hypothetical foresights written from an ivory tower, but thought-provoking, policy-oriented chapters that will be relevant to anyone interested in international relations.

The book can soon be purchased at Cambridge University Press.
