Debating Europe?s Future: The Political Setting of the European Convention

On 22nd of November 2002 the Clingendael Institute organized, in collaboration with the Germany Institute of the University if Amsterdam, an international expertmeeting in order to shed light on the political context in which the European Convention has to work. Attention was paid in particular to the emergence of centre-right governments in various member states, and to the national positions of Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom regarding the future institutional and constitutional set-up of the European Union.
