This chapter discusses the main events of the past year in the area of globalisation and will touch upon the probabilities and uncertainties for the next five to ten years. We will pay special attention to the possibilities of regulating financial markets and the dangers in Europe of political instability and radicalisation caused by the financial and economic crisis.
