Twin transition Green & Digital in EU-ASEAN partnership
Digitalising energy systems

This high-level online public event is co-organised with the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP).

Faced with the challenges of climate change, increased energy demand and higher fossil fuels’ price, the EU and ASEAN are stepping up their cooperation in the green energy domain. At the EU-ASEAN Commemorative Summit of 14 December 2022, leaders reaffirmed their partnership and commitment to accelerate the roll-out of renewable energy sources.

The twin transition of green and digital presents a tremendous opportunity to build together more sustainable, smart, clean and efficient energy systems. This transition brings many opportunities, but also comes with challenges, such as financial, technical and regulatory barriers as well as cyber security risks, that require forward-looking responses

  • How can the EU and ASEAN accelerate the green transition in a smart way?
  • What is the role of smart technologies in the green energy domain?
  • What can ASEAN and the EU gain from working together, next to China and the US?
