This week, the spring edition of the course on International Security kicked off. This programme is a recurring open registration training at the Clingendael Institute, which is offered twice per year. Anyone with an interest in international relations and security can register for the course.
The training kicked off with a keynote speech by former Secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, discussing key trends in international security anno 2022. Participants actively participated, sharing their views and questions regarding recent developments – such as the ongoing invasion in Ukraine.
This Dutch edition of this training programme will provide a platform for practitioners from various backgrounds to deepen their understanding of key developments, trends and perspectives on international security. The training delves deeper into topics such as cyber security, extremism, disinformation, China, Russia, Iraq, Transatlantic relations, and the EU as a security actor. The course also includes workshops enhancing participants’ skills in conflict analysis and scenario planning for future threats in international security.
The course on international security is also offered in English in October 2022.
