The Clingendael Institute has developed a tailor-made training for the staff of EUMM Georgia on Mediation, Dialogue and Conflict Analysis in International Crisis Management". During the training that took place this month, the participants practised their negotiation, mediation and conflict analysis skills, while learning from relevant cases, and reflecting on the situation in Georgia.
This 5-day training was developed as part of the EU Civilian Training Initiative (EUCTI) and co-funded by the EU. This initiative allows the Clingendael Institute to easily offer needs-based trainings to the EU CSDP missions and other crisis management missions in country - to enhance the capacities and skills of currently deployed staff. The dedicated and engaged 17 participants have been able to connect newly acquired skills to their work, and to some of the developments in the region.
We look back on a fruitful and dynamic training, which is planned to have a second edition at the start of 2023. Related to the region, the Clingendael Institute also provides training to the Georgian Security Sector since several years.
