The CAROO convened three times during 2014. Priorities on the Council’s agenda were the relationship between Clingendael and its principal funding partners, and the Annual Plan, including the most important projects in the fields of Research and the Academy. Special attention was given to the CRU/Research Sahel project funded by the Nationale Postcode Loterij (NPL) and the Academy training programme on Water Diplomacy. In September, a number of members reached the maximum two terms of four years and thus stepped down. CAROO Chairman Prof. Cees Flinterman was succeeded by Mr Eimert van Middelkoop; and Vice-Chairman Dr Ton Heukels was replaced by Dr Wendy van Asbeek Brusse.
