A Europeanisation of the Security Structure: the Security Identities of the United Kingdom and Germany

On 7 October 2010 Clingendael Research Fellow Margriet Drent successfully defended her

PhD‐thesis at the University of Groningen. The central question of her book is to what extent

the formation and change of the security identities of the United Kingdom and Germany are

influencing the European security structure in the decade between 1998 and 2008. This

influence is researched in the context of the Europeanisation of security manifest in the EU's

European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP).br />
