Emil is a Junior Research Fellow at the Planetary Security Initiative and the EU & Global Affairs Unit of the Clingendael Institute. His area of expertise revolves around the geopolitical and diplomatic implications of climate change and its effects on security and development, with a geographical focus on the Indo-Pacific and Latin America. In addition, he also covers topics related to decarbonized defense and climate financing.

Emil holds a BSc in European Studies and a MSc in International Security and Law from the University of Southern Denmark, in addition to a MSc in Governance of Sustainability from Leiden University. Prior to joining the Clingendael Institute, he worked at a non-governmental institute in Denmark focused on the green energy transition and critical resource supply chains.
