Amanuel Dessalegn Gedebo is a Researcher at the Clingendael Institute, where his research focuses on the intersection of politics and economics and its impact on peace and stability. His expertise lies in analyzing the political economy of conflict-affected regions and contributing to policy discussions aimed at fostering sustainable peace.
Before joining Clingendael, Amanuel worked as an Emergency Programs Specialist at Terre des Hommes Netherlands in Ethiopia, where he focused on humanitarian response and the protection of vulnerable groups. He also worked for other international humanitarian agencies such as Save the Children and Plan International as humanitarian worker.
Amanuel's work combines rigorous academic research with hands-on experience in crisis settings, aiming to shape policies that promote stability and security in fragile regions.
Amanuel holds a master's degree in International Development from Sciences Po University.
