Bart van der Wal is a researcher in the Strategic Foresight & Intelligence programme within the Security Unit of the Clingendael Institute. His research focuses on the security implications of international trends and shifts in the world order, utilizing research methodologies such as scenario development, horizon scanning, and serious gaming.
He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations: Global Conflict in the Modern Era from Leiden University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History at Utrecht University, specializing in Globalization & World Order. He also completed a minor in American Studies from the University of Amsterdam and an exchange program at Binghamton University in New York, United States.
