Reintegration Phase of DDR Processes

On December 10th, 2007, the Clingendael Conflict Research Unit hosted an expert meeting on the reintegration of demobilized and disarmed ex-combatants, with a particular focus on how reintegration programmes relate to socio-economic reconstruction efforts in post-conflict areas (i.e. the R-phase of DDR processes). A selection of both Dutch and foreign experts were present at the meeting, who were all either involved in research projects at the time or had only recently finished projects on the R-phase of DDR. The object of the meeting was to provide the opportunity for researchers to present their (provisional results), methods and findings and to identify areas for future research.
