Hannah is a Research Fellow at Clingendael’s EU & Global Affairs Unit. Her main areas of expertise are European and international politics in the field of energy and climate, with a specific research interest in energy security, green diplomacy, and the geopolitics of the energy transition.
Prior to joining Clingendael, Hannah worked at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS), Helmholtz Centre in Potsdam, Germany, focusing on the role of hydrogen for transitions in energy and industry (see e.g., Lentschig et al., 2025, Multilateral governance in a global hydrogen economy, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy). She also held positions as research assistant and consultant and has work experience in corporate communication and public affairs.
Hannah holds an Advanced MSc (cum laude) in International Relations & Diplomacy from Leiden University, and a BSc (cum laude) in Politics, Psychology, Law & Economics from the University of Amsterdam. Born and raised in Germany, Hannah has been living in the Netherlands since 2018.
