Clingendael hosts discussion with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Kachka

The Clingendael Institute co-organised a lunch discussion in Breda with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Mr Taras Kachka and his delegation on the margins of the Netherlands–Ukraine bilateral government conference (the “Lviv Conference”).

 

The lunch was organised by the Clingendael Institute, the Dutch Advisory Council on International Affairs (AIV), the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The discussion addressed key issues related to Ukraine’s desire to join the EUreconstruction efforts, and security challenges. The exchange enabled Dutch policymakers and experts to engage directly with Ukrainian counterparts on priorities and future cooperation.

The conversation was moderated by Clingendael Senior Research Fellow Julia Soldatiuk-Westerveld. Clingendael was further represented by Bob Deen, Saskia Hollander, Wouter Zweers, and Max Eleveld. Also present were Paul Scheffer, Chair of the European Integration Committee, Dorette Corbey, Vice-Chair of the European Integration Committee and Jan Broeks, Vice-Chair of the Peace and Security Committee. The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Alle Dorhout, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine, Robert Dresen, Head of the Ukraine Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iris van Loon, EU Policy Officer.
