Saskia Hollander is a Senior Research Fellow at the EU & Global Affairs Unit at Clingendael. Her research revolves mainly around EU governance & politics, climate policy and migration.

On behalf of Clingendael, Saskia is part of the scientific staff of the State Commission on ‘Demographic Developments 2050', that was appointed by the Dutch government to advice government and parliament on the social and economic impact of demographic developments, in particular ageing and migration.

Prior to joining Clingendael, Saskia was the director of The Broker, a Dutch-based knowledge brokering organization in the field of international development. In 2006 and 2007 she worked at the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy on projects related to European integration and development policy. In 2012 and in 2022 she worked at the Dutch Advisory Council on International Affairs as deputy secretary of the European Integration Committee.

Saskia holds a PhD in political science from Radboud University Nijmegen. Her dissertation dealt with the politics of referendum use in the EU.
