Alexandre F. Gomes is a Research Fellow at Clingendael’s EU & Global Affairs Unit. His interest and research revolve around the intersection and mutual influence between (geo)politics and technology. Earlier in his career, he worked as IT and Technology consultant. In that role, he contributed to strategic and operational tech-related projects, not only in several European countries, but also in Mexico, Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Alexandre holds a Master’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal (2016) and a Master’s degree in Political Science & International Relations from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2022). During his last studies, he got engaged with themes ranging from Global Political Economy to International Security, as well as the functioning of the European Union institutions.
