Inleiding

This webinar on the Syrian conflict is organised in collaboration with the Bertelsmann Stiftung. It has been streamed live via YouTube.

 

The aim of this webinar is to share some hard-nosed expert reflections (including Covid-19) on current EU policy, options and limitations for dealing with parties to the Syrian conflict as food for thought for the Syria: IV-Brussels conference on 29-30 June.

Speakers

Christian Hanelt (Bertelsmann Stiftung) and Erwin van Veen (Clingendael, moderator) will be joined by experts:

  • Naseef Naeem (Zenith Council)
  • Joseph Bahout (Carnegie Middle East)
  • Michel Duclos (Institut Montaigne)

Michael Koehler (ECHO, European Union) will discuss implications for the Syria: Brussels-IV conference.

Bassma Kodmani (Institute of Integrated Transitions) will highlight key takeaways in her closing remarks.
