Sebastiaan rejoined the Clingendael Institute as an Academy Project Fellow in 2022, after having interned at the institute in 2019. In the meantime Sebastiaan worked as a public sector consultant helping various international organizations, ministries, local governments and semi-governmental organizations, always focusing on strategy, transition and public value creation. At Clingendael Sebastiaan specialises in the development and implementation of various training programs for (foreign) diplomats, civil servants and security personnel as well as in capacity building programs for organisations. He develops and facilitates training sessions in the field of international (climate) security, international law and strategic policy analysis. 

Sebastiaan holds an LLM degree in Law and Politics of International Security from the VU University in Amsterdam and a BA in International Relations and Political Theory obtained at Maastricht University’s University College and the University of Sydney. During his studies Sebastiaan lived in Australia as well as lived and worked as a research consultant in India.
