Amanda Klemann is a Senior Academy Fellow at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’.  She designs and coordinates training programmes for diplomats, mediators, mediation support officers and other international professionals, focusing on conflict resolution, international security and diplomacy. Her areas of expertise and working interest include international law, human rights, consensus building, and transitional justice. She provides tailored training in these areas to those working across various international fields, including the field of conflict prevention and resolution. In addition, she focuses on capacity-building and strengthening efforts at both institutional and individual levels, by providing advice and designing and conducting training of trainer programmes for those working in the field of negotiation and mediation, conflict resolution and international security.

Prior to joining the Clingendael Institute, she worked in the private sector as a media and communications officer. She has also been a Research Associate for the Public International and Policy Group (PILPG) where she conducted extensive legal research on international law, peace agreement processes, post-conflict rule of law development, and human rights-related issues, all which were relevant for the development of the strategic advice provided to clients.

Amanda holds an LLM degree in Public International Law and an MSc. International Crimes and Criminology as well as a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences. During her studies, she worked for the Trust Fund for Victims (ICC) where she assisted in the examination of the ICC victims reparations scheme and the monitoring and evaluation process of field projects conducted by the Trust Fund for Victims.
